Voluntary Can Do Kid Bar Recall
Updated on 3 Feb: the recall of Peanut Butter products manufactured by the Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) has expanded. The recall now involves peanut products dating back to January 2007. This means that the initial recall of our products has also expanded. Please see the "What Is Being Recalled" section below for updated information on the lots being recalled.
While our products were tested for salmonella at two labs prior to release to the market, there have been no known illness from our bars, and we are confident that our bars are safe, we believe a voluntary recall of the bars listed below of two of our flavors is the most responsible course of action.

Why Are Some Bars Being Recalled?
- Peanut Butter products manufactured by the Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) dating back to January 2007 have been recalled. We are voluntarily recalling all our products made with any of this peanut butter. Note that this is an expanded recall of PCA product: as the recall of PCA product has expanded, our recall of bars made with PCA product has expanded.
- Nothing is more important to Can Do Kid than the health and safety of our customers. If we are not absolutely sure that any Can Do Kid bars meet our quality and safety standards, we recall them.
- There have been no reported illnesses from these products as they are thoroughly tested for salmonella prior to leaving our manufacturing partner. We are being very cautious and complying with our manufacturers' recommendations.
How Do I Know If I Have Recalled Product?
- First, check to see if you have bars in the new packages that say "Gluten Free" on the front label. None of the product in these new labels has been recalled. If your label says "Now Gluten Free" on it like the labels below, your bar is fine.
- Second, make sure the bars you are checking are either Cookies & Cream flavored or Chocolate Crunch flavored. Canilla Vanilla bars do not contain any of the Peanut Butter from PCA. All Canilla Vanilla bars are fine.
- Check the Best By/Sell By date on the bars.
- If you have Cookies & Cream flavored bars with any of these Best By / Sell By dates, those bars are recalled: 062608, 080208, 082808, 100808, 011709, 050809, 081409 and 102109
- If you have Chocolate Crunch flavored bars with any of these Best By / Sell By dates , those bars are recalled: 062608, 080208, 082808, 100808, 011709, 050909, 081309 and 102109
- If you have bars with any other Best By / Sell By date, your bars are fine. No recalled Peanut Butter from PCA was used in bars with any other Best By / Sell By date.
